10:15 AM ET 05.16 | Steve Nash is finding other ways than basketball to fill up his schedule now that the Los Angeles Lakers are out of the NBA Playoffs. The 39-year-old isn't getting any younger and recently said he'll probably retire when his contract expires. The first season with the Lakers has not been kind to Nash. In only his second game, the point guard broke a bone in his leg, which sidelined him for 24 games. While he was relatively healthy after that, his body once again fell apart toward the final stretch of the season and he could only play through injections for pain relief.

Not his fault. Lakers signed him for multi-years, so they have no choice but to honor it. I'm always skeptical to sign players that are 35+ for multiple years.

What if he retired right now, do the lakers have money to sign a decent PG (5 million a year, still doesn't get you anything decent)?

Nash has been the biggest free agent bust of the yr. He is lucky Howard was there to take all the criticism. Even Howard gave the Lakers more then Nash.

Maybe the best pure shooting and worse defensive point guard of all-time.

The way Nash played this last season. I thought he was already retired.

Who would have thought that this season both Nash's and Kidd's game went into the toilet.

Or Rondo???? IMO Nash should hang the sneakers right now, don't wait until after next year!!!! Nash has been hurt most of the year, it won't be/get any better next year!!

He should have retired when he left the Suns!

May 17, 2013  03:15 PM ET

About time. He's had a good career. the only then he can do by keep playing is the same thing that so many before him have done, forget where the exit is! Beat it Steve, go spend some money & enjoy the wife & kids!
