Golden State Warriors should be proud of season

03:16 AM ET 05.17 | The Warriors' 2012-2013 season was nothing short of a success. Realistically, this team was never going to make a run to the NBA Finals, or, for that matter, beat the Spurs in the second round. Hell, the fact that they finished 12 games over .500 AND made the playoffs AND defeated the Denver Nuggets in the first round was unexpected and extremely impressive. I give credit where it is due, and the amount of credit that the Golden State Warriors should receive this season cannot be quantified by any amount. In just one short year, this team has grown from tanking for better draft position to playing home playoff games in the middle of May. So, the Warriors and their fans should not be hanging their heads. What they should be doing is looking forward to the future, which, believe it or not, looks extremely bright.

Every year a pick a sleeper & every year by the time they do what I expected them to do I begin to root for the other team. Last year it was Indiana until the played the Heat (the eventual NBA Champs). The year it was Golden State at the expense of the Nuggets who I really wanted to go deep into the Playoff s. I didn't get mad at Golden State because the beat the Nuggets, but like the Pacers last year, they got cocky. Played ball a long portion of my life. The one line that always comes to mind when I see someone getting cocky is from Samuel L. Jackson in "Coach Carter" .... "what gives you the right to disrespect the game I love?"
After cockiness, comes humility. Need I say more?

In the words of the iconic Ricky Bobby's father, "If you ain't first, you're last."

That should be the takeaway for every team that doesn't end their season as champions.

Mark Jackson would have gotten my vote for Coach of the Year. "Mama, there goes that man."

Congratulations to Curry, Jackson and rest of the Warriors for an amazing season. They have some really nice pieces. But also glaring holes. They badly need an offensive inside presence. Bogut can't score, and I think he's done physically.

I'm curious to see if they can pick put Paul Pierce to take them to the next level. The need some veteran leadership.

Yup... although it would have been tough for me not to throw a vote Lionel Hollins' way.

So true. What I liked was that most of the fans stayed instead of leaving before the closing minutes and gave their team a standing ovation when the series was over. That being said, GSG!!!

Inside presents was David Lee. No one excepted that he was going to get hurt. When Lee is playing, everyone knows their roles. With that missing, it was always going to be a problem. Landry can post up, but when he gets the ball no one else is going to touch it and becomes a little selfish.
No use getting Paul Pierce, HB grew so much in the playoffs because of the minutes he played. You can see he has picked up some moves from Pierce. One step jump shot became very effective. With Rush coming back it will give a lot less pressure on the guard rotation. They really need a center that can score a little and shoot the free throws.

warriors did well.
With a healthy David Lee, I could smell an upset.
Am sure they will keep their starting lineup in tact.
A tweak in their bench here and their and they are even better.
PS They need to amnesty Biendris!

Not for me. I'd vote for Spolestra as Coach of the Year. And the entire Heat roster as co-MVP's, Pat Riley as executive of the year and Arison as owner of all eternity and perpetuity. Lebron should be named "New Messiah" and a book should be added to the bible in his honor. WAIT...in fact, throw the entire Old and New Testaments out, Koran, and Torah and have Lebron write something to replace them since he is THAT GOOD! (or so we are to believe).

COME ON KNEE INJURY! Get this guy out of circulation for good.
