01:28 PM ET 05.17 | Despite enrolling a semester early in January, Chavas Rawlins has decided to leave the Mountaineer football program. A WVillustrated interview with his former high school coach, Andy Pacak, indicated that there were no real issues with the arrival of Clint Trickett or with the school or coaching staff, but the defection of Coach Jake Spavital to Texas A&M may have been the biggest factor. Rawlins' defection officially leaves Coaches Dawson and Holgorsen with three (Paul Millard, Ford Childress and recent transfer Clint Trickett) vying for the starting position this fall. Not that Rawlins necessarily was in the running currently, but his presence certainly held possibilities for future seasons.

Good move kid. Trickett is gonna be the starter, and Holgorsen is a jackass.

Is this "the player to named later" in a trade I wasn't aware of?

Well, I'm guessing we can anticipate forthcoming FN threads.

I'm still trying to figure out whether "Bench" is the kid's name, or his position.
