01:09 PM ET 05.19 | Now that quarterback David Garrard has retired, the New York Jets are down to Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Greg McElroy, and Matt Simms. General manager John Idzik may be looking for another veteran to take Garrard's spot, according to ESPN New York's Rich Cimini, but the free agent market is thin.

as long as mark is waived june 1.....I don't care what old carcass they pick up

I don't think that is going to happen. I think Sanchez is, by far, the favorite to be under center for the opening game. Believe me, I understand the criticisms of his play. But I don't see anyone better than him on the current roster or available as a FA. Plus they have to pay him anyway.

Maybe they should have cloned Joe Namath when they had the chance.
