Giants could be interested in Charles Woodson

05:14 PM ET 05.19 | The New York Giants could be interested in signing free agent defensive back Charles Woodson. Woodson, who was released by the Packers earlier this offseason, is still on the market after talking with the Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos. A deal is not imminent between Woodson and the Giants, but may get more aggressive if they think they can get Woodson for a good value. Safety is not a huge position of need, so they don't need him desperately.

Go to a contender, Charles. Regardless of the money, Carolina and Oakland can't do anything for you at this point in your career except make you regret coming back.

Just be Safe the Giants might sign an experienced Saftey!

Anything Woodson does now is just gravy. He has had a phenomenal career. The first sign of deterioration was his inability to stop a Hail Mary against the Giants in the playoffs a couple years ago. If he soaks a few more checks for his obviously great leadership skills, so be it. But he now is an extremely poor cover man. I wouldn't take him as a third safety. Again, I respect and acknowledge his past greatness. Now? He should retire on his own terms.
