06:53 AM ET 05.20 | A return to greater Detroit? Former Michigan standout Charles Woodson, a Heisman Trophy winner and eight-time NFL Pro Bowl player, said he would consider playing for the Detroit Lions. But a lot of things would have to fall into place, like the right financial figures. ... He visited Denver on Wednesday and will talk to Oakland on Tuesday. ... "If I make it out of my visit with Oakland, like I just made it out of the visit with Denver, then I'm open," Woodson said. "Here's the thing about the Lions, the Lions have players. What the Lions haven't been able to do is put it together. That winning attitude and to be able to start those winning ways, it has to start somewhere. So, would I be open? Sure."

Apparently he is looking for any team but the Raiders to take him. Methinks they will be his only choice.

If he's looking at Detroit, it's got to be about the money, because it's not about a chance for another ring.

This is starting to make Woodson look pathetic. Especially if he gets no offers besides that from the Raiders.

May 20, 2013  09:26 AM ET

He needs to chill and wait until pre-season. Some team will suffer an injury, or they'll realize that they don't have the guys to get it done. Either that or somebody will punch out a cop.

Who in their right mine would want to play in that scum team and live in oakland even worst liveing in CA.He will sign with DETROIT like I stated last week.

Both cities are dumps... But I'd take Detroit over Oakland in a heartbeat. At least Detroit wins 7 games or so.

May 20, 2013  11:53 AM ET

There is NO market for CBs who will be 37 this fall and who cannot still bring it and want more than the vet minimum of around $1 million for his years.... And he cannot bring it anymore. I doubt even the Raiders want him or he would be there..

I liked my visits to Detroit, hotel would assign a guard to me every time I walked outside

May 20, 2013  12:52 PM ET

He's unemployed. He should be "pitching his services" to everyone.

"Woodson pitches services to Detroit"

So far, he can't find the strike zone.

May 20, 2013  01:17 PM ET

I got him mowing lawns in the fall and taking the wifie and kids to Vermont to see the colors of the tree's change. He has visited every dam team and no one wants him.

They show pictures of burned out buildings in Deeeetroit and say how bad it looks. Are you kidding me? It looked like that in the 60's in some areas. Oakland ain't no better. Lived there too. Those two cities are prime reasons I am against gun control. I say give them all guns and let them have at it. We can clean it up once the blue smoke dies down.

I-5 is not close to Oakland. I driven up and down I-5 at all time of day and night, it isn't dangerous.
