07:10 AM ET 05.20 | What's next for Dwight Howard? With the Lakers hoping for a swift decision from [Howard] on his free agency this summer, the All-Star center has given no indication he will rush the process and has privately indicated that he plans to give strong consideration to multiple teams, league sources told CBSSports.com. ... [Word] already has spread to multiple levels of his support staff that Howard re-signing with the Lakers is far from a done deal. With six weeks to go before Howard becomes an unrestricted free agent, the team that is said to intrigue him the most is the Houston Rockets, according to multiple people briefed on internal conversations surrounding Howard's free-agent decision.

Take him or leave him

Would be a good choice. Houston hasn't been lucky w/ having a superstar center. Yao only played less then half of his NBA playing days in Houston...

If the Lakers can really swing a deal for a high draft pick, Howard has a reason to stay

May 20, 2013  08:25 AM ET

Snore....We all knew this was going to happen

LOL ya think Howard is gonna stay to play with a draft freaking pick, as opposed to Harden and Asik? You must be in hollywood, bro!

I thought the Cavs got the Lakers' draft picks?

Another off season of daily threads on Dwight's eventual destination. I can hardly wait.

I think Houston would be best for him, but he is no Hakeem.

If I'm the Rockets I would rather go after Josh Smith than Howard. Smith has his issues too and he will get overpaid but at least you get a solid 18-8 out of him every night and he has no injury issues that I'm aware of. And you can play him next to Asik. Howard is not going to get the touches in Houston he wants with Harden there. Stay away, Houston, stay away.

If DH leaves L.A. Kobe will retire!

May 20, 2013  09:11 AM ET

Good luck my boy... Lakers, Rockets or where ever, make your decision and look like a man this time!

Thanks and sorry for last season whether it was your only one with us or not!

Nah! It will drive him to lead more and take on the challenge. He has so much people to prove wrong this time especially w/ the new book coming out.

Correct. Lakers have no draft picks in this coming up draft.

That is why there are rumors of them making a trade for one.

What challenge???

The Lakers are not a contender. Hell, they are barely a playoff team. And if DH leaves they will be a lottery team for sure.

Without DH, by the time Kobe is healthy enough to play. The Lakers will be some where next to last and no where near making the playoffs.

At that point I can see him retiring because he definitely won't be going out a winner. The only reason I see Kobe staying is to catch MJ in scoring.
