Barnes losing his grip at Texas?

07:17 AM ET 05.20 | Through it all, Rick Barnes remains an optimist. [The] longtime Texas basketball coach vehemently promises his 15-year program is not falling into disarray as it might appear from the outside. For everyone else, seeing will be believing. There's evidence to suggest Barnes is losing his grip on his program. However, he vows that perception is mistaken, despite his first losing record at Texas, six absences from the Sweet 16 in the past seven seasons and major defections by everybody but the ballboy. To be honest, I'm not sure if Barnes is properly defiant or just delusional. But that doesn't stop him from saying, "With the guys coming in, I think we're pretty good."

Check out Rick Barnes' career coaching record!! He has been a very solid coach (except the 2012-13 season) and has won over 70% of his games at Texas!!

2 big issues:

In the last 5 years, he's 111-62 with 1 tourney win
Since Texas was ranked No1, midway thru 10-11 season, he is 36-40.

All this despite only having Duke and Kansas with more players drafted.

He has completely lost it. Move on.

Anyone ping JRM? Or, are we relying upon his uncanny sense that a thread exists on FN which is tailored for his vents.

Not even JRM's modstalker will have cause for a simple, "Fire Rick Barnes!!!" drive-by post or two.

SG, you have a very good point!!!!! Maybe if his record is all that bad in the last 5 years, then it might be time for him to move on. Look at Ben Howland at UCLA, he had a couple of bad seasons and they sent him packing!!!

Lord have mercy, please do not post any of your Stillwater Sweetheart pics, JRM.

I beg of you, I will swear off any "It's TX's fault" comments forever if you will just pass on this opportunity to post those gawdawful pics.

NFL thread on Garrett vs. Jones. Lotta noise in Austin about whether the CBB defections (our two leading turnover committers and one guy with a chronic injury issue) were voluntary or whether Barnes "encouraged" them to go.

IMHO, all three CBB players, Garrett, Jones and Barnes should all effin' hit the road.

OK, I just used up my spare time for the week. See y'all later.

.......Will FN Modstalker still let me say effin'?
