06:50 PM ET 05.20 | Willis McGahee, whose future as the Broncos' starting running back would seem to be in peril after the team drafted Montee Ball in the second round, was the only non-injured veteran who wasn't present Monday for the first day of OTAs. McGahee also had spotty attendance during the Phase I and II offseason conditioning program. All offseason training activities (OTAs) are voluntary until the mandatory minicamp June 11-13.

Did he say he would be there and didn't show? If so, you have a story.

The OTAs are vlountary. But if you don't go you will get cut. That NFLPA is some union.

This is his history. This is how he do. Normally this would be a mistake given his age and how much the Broncos think of Montee but Moreno has been on this team far to long.

Oh cmon Rob, this is this history is correct however McGahee's status an Knowshon's are two entirely different issues. You know the usual Moreno season, show a flash of 48 yards in 1 quarter then break a leg while tripping on someone's shoelace.

Since that didn't happen last year the donkeys are absolutely expecting knowshon (all worthless 205lbs of time) will be retained compared to the 30+ yr old McGahee. Willis obviously knows he needs to wrestle out other runners for the job and he is preparing himself in his usual approach for the season. I am sure that McGahee will be cut (if he makes it through preseason) however the wildcard is whether Moreno is able to execute the zone rushing scheme. He hasn't been known for this in the past but the donkeys will expect him to be an expert.

On the other hand, I think Knowshon won't be able to pickup the zone blocking/rushing whereas I know Willis can handle the zone rushing (*See Alex Gibbs retained by Broncos to instruct offensive line and running backs). So thats the wildcard as to which will be retained. One at the very least wil be let go along with Lance Ball. Its possible that they ditch Hester, Ball and keep Moreno and Willis!
