11:33 AM ET 05.21 | Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is reportedly more ready than ever to take football serious and put all of his time into studying the playbook and improving himself as a passer. That sounded great and was used to stop backlash from the six-year extension worth $108 million that he signed, but now it looks like Romo won't be taking the field until at least training camp because of back surgery. Romo reportedly has surgery to remove a cyst on his back. The surgery will possibly keep him out until training camp. With Romo on the sidelines, backup Kyle Orton will work with the first team.

That way he has an excuse when the Cowboys end up 8-8 again and miss the playoffs

He'll be blowing 4th quarter leads in no time.

They sewing in a backbone???

Is there a reason he waited until after signing his contract to do this? Was this issue just diagnosed? So much for him working sun-up to sundown at Valley Ranch. If Jerrah gave him a front row parking spot, he's going to need to pull a Costanza and get Seinfeld to move his car to the parking space.

Is this the same thing as paying back-taxes?

This is all a smokescreen. It was really a throat operation. They were trying to find out why he chokes all the time.
