03:12 PM ET 05.21 | The Chicago Blackhawks are in a surprising hole against the Detroit Red Wings and being down a game in the series has many wondering if netminder Corey Crawford is going to be replaced by Ray Emery anytime soon. The short answer is with a but, the long answer is yes with an if -- no, the Blackhawks don't plan on replacing Crawford between the pipes but that can change if he's lit up for a third straight game. Chicago will replace Crawford if he struggles again against the Red Wings but according to the Chicago Tribune, the Blackhawks will be sticking with Crawford in net and "aren't talking" about Ray Emery just yet. Crawford has been able to bounce back from slumps and the Blackhawks are banking big time that he can do that very thing in Game 4 and avoid Chicago falling into a devastating 3-1 hole.

Sitting all this time on the bench has probably made Emery bored.

So we can close that file.

It's not just Crawford. The Blackhawks have gotten rattled--especially in the third period of the third game. I don't know if they will do better if they keep their cool, but if they don't they will get worse.

Corey Crawford's not the reason the Hawks are down 2-1 in this series. The Hawks as a team took the Wings a little too casually and are still unwilling to pay the price to make the tough plays in the dirty areas. The last two games they've been out-coached and outplayed. Simple as that.

One more game will be one too many... afraid to act is the primary symptom of choking. The third goal was awful last game, and they need something bold to wake them the bleep up... but Q isn't enough of a leader to do that.

Regardless of the outcome of this series, the only trophy the Hawks will be enjoying this summer is the President's Trophy. No way they can take Bs or the Ps from the East.

They could always trade him to Edmonton for Nail

The third goal was an insane Datsyuk wrister that blows past the ear of every goalie in the world. Crawford has been good positionally, he just needs to improve his rebound control. Howard's rebound control is phenominal right now; thus he's making Crawford look like a chump.

CHI should not panic, its nothing a little polish wont fix

If they throw Saad in ... maybe.

They say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I must say, that third goal WAS a thing of beauty.

Not unless he's willing to be sent in to goon (fill in the blanks).

And as long as they're not being too "cute-icle" with the puck.

Oddly enough, I used to work for Emery Worldwide (freight company) and they used to have these little emory boards with their name on them as promo giveaways. Always loved that play on words.
