07:08 AM ET 05.22 | The draft lottery behind them and the draft itself ahead, the 76ers have another large item of business in the form of impending free agent Andrew Bynum. The Sixers have exclusive rights to negotiate with [Bynum], who earned $16.5 million despite not playing at all last season due to knee injuries. Free agency begins July 1. ... If the Sixers' basketball people want to re-sign Bynum or bring in another big-money player, [Josh Harris] said he would be kept in the loop and seriously consider it. "Certainly on that kind of decision, I would be briefed and understand the thought process," Harris said. "The way I tend to work with people, both in the Sixers and my day job (as a leveraged buyout specialist), is I give the team the benefit of the doubt."

This owner needs to be evaluated. You already messed up the team by signing this immature oft injured goofball. Time to cut your losses and start from scratch.

Yup..no sense to continue to throw good money away. ESPECIALLY after how he played them last season and carried on with all his foolishness

I'm glad you'll bring him back. We do need some bottom feeders in this league for guaranteed wins and some cheap tickets :-). Clowns always make the circus more interesting.

<sarcasm> I'd consider bringing him back too... If he agreed to be paid only for the games he actually played (20 or more minutes in) and did a Flamenco dance demonstration as half-time entertainment. </sarcasm>

I hope they do sign him to a max. They only have themselves to blame if it doesn't work out...

When did they sign him?

They traded for him.

Please dont! This team has had so many setbacks when bringing in old or damaged goods and signing them to big contracts. The Bynum deal set this team back at least 5 years and giving him another one will only prolong that...

Considering everything; he's their best option!

in all seriousness- they should consider all optionsthey lost alot with the trade-but the dude was hurt-for a SMALL contract....IF...medicaly cleared(and I would get new Doctors- not that same hack that cleared him for the trade)there is nothing wrong with bringing him back

Ur right J but from all reports Bynum isnt asking for a SMALL contract, he still thinks he's a MAX player (which may say more about his delusional state of mind)...no way you can bring this jerk back for anything more than a rack of balls and new warm ups for the team. Lol

Jordan will take him.he's been well known for taking gambles

He will and he'll make them worse.

So continues the downward spiral of the Sixers.... I just didn't realize it was because of the owner?

May 22, 2013  09:03 PM ET

The owner is stuck. There has been no return on the money he spent and the players lost for Bynum. IF he could stay healthy he would be a top 3 center. His immaturity and fragile knees are a lot to deal with for the next few years.
