Jackson 'too creepy' for Clippers

07:11 AM ET 05.22 | Vinny Del Negro is out, and Los Angeles' search for a head coach will begin immediately. One source with knowledge of the Clippers' thinking said Phil Jackson would "pretty much be excluded" from consideration because of his engagement to Lakers executive Jeanie Buss. While the source insisted it wasn't a reflection on Jackson's coaching ability, it would simply be "too creepy" for the Clippers to bring in a coach who was engaged to the owner of their crosstown rival. Jackson repeatedly has insisted that he's not interested in a return to coaching, preferring a front-office role instead. ... Del Negro had a 128-102 regular-season record in three seasons with the team.

Maybe they don't need a coach. CP and CB can share that role;
For all his skills,CP3 is a whiner. He got Scott fired, and now VDN. He hasn't done much in the playoffs himself, so at some point, it's tie to take a close look at the mirror.

PHil is on Mike on Mike right now. He said he is not coming back to coach at all. Management is not in his future also. He just want to be a consultant...

Why not ask CP what he thinks?

He obviously runs the show there. How's that working out for Darren Williams?

<----------------it is getting quite ridiculous how much Jackson gets mentioned the minute a decent to good team needs a coach.

The guy is done.

The NBA spends more time recycling coaches that have failed vs developing new talent from assistants and college.

Scott is popping up with them too, and he is another re-tread.

Why doesn't someone give Brian Shaw a gig? or Bob McAdoo?

Spo got a gig moving up in the ranks in Miami vs Riley going for a re-tread...this is what NBA teams should be doing.

And deep too.........

be a great Halloween promo. Sterling won't dish out that kind of money for a guy like Jackson. Truthfully, at this stage of his career, he just comes with too much baggage. It would be too much of a distraction. Chris Paul surely would reap benefit though.

Next coach of the clippers will be Lionel Hollins. The Grizzly don't want to pay him because if they did it would've happened by now he beat the Clippers already with no superstar go to guy. And the two teams are similar he likes a fast pg that can score and he will still coach up his post players in Jordan and griifin. Ya heard it from me first

May 22, 2013  11:33 AM ET

Now that would make for great reality television!!

You can't blame the Clips for dreaming. After all Phil is the greatest coach ever to do it.

May 22, 2013  12:54 PM ET

So let me get this straight....

Phil has no interest in coaching.... The Clippers have no interest in Phil. And yet we get an article.

And besides, the Clippers wouldn't want a guy that wins titles coaching them. Would ruin their "we suck ****" history.

Could never imagine Phil working for Donald Sterling...
