Rangers fear 'huge' loss on D

07:22 AM ET 05.22 | Looking at New York's bench Tuesday night, one might be forgiven for wondering where everyone went, with perhaps the most significant loss on the blue line. With just under seven minutes remaining in the second period, defenseman Anton Stralman was slammed into the backboards by burly Bruins forward Milan Lucic, dazing Stralman to the point where he could hardly defend Nathan Horton in front of the net as he rang one off the crossbar. Stralman returned for one more shift in the second period but was not on the bench to start the third, and his status going into tomorrow night's Game 4 is unknown. "It's huge," coach John Tortorella said of Stralman's loss. ... "He has played so well. That's a big blow to us as far as [matchups]."

I disagree....the Rangers are playing a far superior team, it's that simple. If anything, fire Sather...

C'mon Rangers. At least win one. ONE!

Rangers looked tired from what I saw of the game. Got in after second period. Looked uninspired. Not sure whose fault that is, or what is going on.

The Rangers are losing because the team is wearing down again. When you play #5 and #27 half a game every day in the playoffs, they start to wear down. Then you play teams that keep rolling lines, and they can't sustain their normal excellent play. It happened against the Devils last year. Devils didn't even have 4 great lines, they just rolled 4. And hammered those two especially.
Torts trusts three dmen, Stralman, McD and Girardi. And those guys are just getting worn out. Does the same thing with his forwards. Callahan is getting worn out. I have never seen him make so many dumb plays (not getting called for a lot because apparently the Rangers don't get penalties called against them) and a few dives too. Mentally and physically tired.

I agree. Last night we saw their best and, their best wasn't good enough. It's over.

Fire Rick Nash and bring back Marian Gaborick. Rick Nash is Pancake Man version 2.0!

They might also think about the 'huge' loss on O.

Something to think about for Leaf fans. If Miss Prime hadn't pissed away that series To***to would probably have made it to the Conference Finals.

I think if the Rangers get Rick Nash in the off-season, that might be the missing piece. He's not use to the playoffs, but I think once he gets to them, especially playing in the big city he will dominate.

This has been killing me since the playoff pairings were set. I felt that the winner of the BOS-TOR series would go to the Finals (at least), and have seen nothing to alter that view in the last 3 weeks.

Coulda woulda shoulda

If I were a Leafs fan, I'd be going crazy over that thought right now.

I always heard it: If ifs and buts were beer and nuts . . . .

But I'm from Pittsburgh so that might explain the difference.
