05:57 PM ET 05.22 | The writing on the wall is becoming more legible when it comes to Brandon Spikes. Despite the fact he is the best purveyor of on-field nasty the Patriots have, Spikes??? distaste for the Patriots expectations of how to get ready for a season will probably mean a parting of the ways after 2013 when Spikes becomes a free agent. Spikes wasn???t present for the start of OTAs this week and hasn???t been a part of the offseason conditioning program. That???s his right. But with the rest of the team???s principal players in attendance, Spikes??? absence is a ???****??? to the program. And once it gets there, one would imagine it???s hard to turn that battleship around.

He'll end up being a Buc.

BB demands loyalty to his way ---or ? The highway.
There are always a crew of young men coming up behind eager to take his place.

A Jag... like all the other recent Patriot releases.

That's real informative, thanks. Way to read your copy.

He's been a member of the Patriots since they drafted him in the second round in 2010 and he suddenly doesn't like the way the Pats train? There's got to be more than that going on here.

Spikes is a one trick pony......he is a great run defender but he is a liability in pass coverage. He is slow and has poor coverage technique. One of the Pats biggest weaknesses on defense was coverage against TEs. They ranked near the bottom last year. Spike was exposed by many QBs last season.....handwriting is on the wall.

That's a possibility too, but the Jags already have Paul Posluszny. Looking at the Bucs depth chart they look a little small at the MLB position.

Perhaps Spikes wants to play on a team that will win a playoff game.......

Writing's been on the wall for a while. Hightower will replace Spikes in the middle and Collins is the sucessor to Ninkovich as a 'tweener edge player.
