07:03 AM ET 05.23 | Finally, some momentum. Sacramento Kings officials say their sales staff sold more season tickets Tuesday than any day in Sacramento team history, other than day one, nearly 30 years ago. Team spokesman Chris Clark said the team has a policy of not released specific ticket sales counts, but said requests were coming in every few seconds when the team officially opened sales Tuesday morning for new season tickets for the upcoming season. Sales remained "brisk" [Wednesday], he said. The team is planning on hiring 40 new sales staff this week to help out. The surge in interest follows news last Thursday that the team had been sold to a consortium of new owners led by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Vivek Ranadive.

Lived in Cali for almost 30 years and know absolutely nothing about what Sac-town is like. Well I know it is hot in the summer.

Grew up as a Baltimore Colt fan. Never want to see a city lose a team because they moved to another city.

I went to a Sac game last year, it was a disaster. I couldn't believe how disorganized the entire admin was (the arena admin). People waiting in LONG lines outside, and it was drizzling. Once inside, the arena was in a pathetic state. Walking past corridors one could smell urine. I had 4 international guests I was entertaining and they badly wanted to watch a NBA game, and in the given dates, the Sac game was my only option in the Cali area, so we made the drive. Obviously they walked away with a less-then impressed opinion of the NBA.

I used to love the old team with Vlade, Webber, JWil etc. Sad state right now.

So fans only support their team when they recover from a major relocation crisis. I hope these new Kings owners know what they inherited....

Really? The fans failed to attend because the Maloof's were horrible owners who tried to "Major League" the team into leaving. The support has been there in the past when an effort was exhibited both on and off the floor.
