07:08 AM ET 05.23 | The options are, no doubt, being discussed in Queens. Send Ike Davis to the minor leagues. Don't send him to the minor leagues. It doesn't make a difference in the big picture. Here's the greater takeaway, as the Mets saw Matt Harvey's turn in the rotation overshadowed by yet another Ay Yi Y-Ike moment: He just isn't good enough a player to be generating this much agita. So he shouldn't be part of the Mets' plans next year and beyond, when they vow to be out of full rebuilding mode. "This is absolutely baffling to everybody," manager Terry Collins said, after a very questionable Davis decision on defense led to the Mets losing, 7-4, to the Reds at Citi Field. ... "We've got to get this guy going, because we've got to figure out where he's going to fit."

They DON'T like Ike?

His season long hitting slump is now carrying over to his defensive play at first base.

He needs to stop thinking he's this great HOF ballplayer ..when in fact he's barely got a year and a half of MLB experience under his belt...he expects to get the respect of a full blown veteran at the plate by the umpires when in fact their still viewing him as a rookie.....some of the greats were sent down early in their careers i.e. Willie Mays,Mickey Mantle,Keith Hernandez....not to say Davis is this caliber of player...but sending him down is the only way to save this guy right now......

Look how low his hands are in that picture. You can't hit like that. I don't know if a trip to AAA will help him, but the Mets can't afford to keep him in the lineup.

It is way past due,he needs to find himself at the plate, not at the mets expense

Its karma for beating on Tina all those years.

Perhaps sending Davis to triple A might light a fire under hisass and make him realize if he wants to get back to ML club he has to show management he can be more productive at plate and on defense. Mets would have to do some shuffling to cover first base.

I think she made all that up. You know, for the sympathy and publicity.
