06:11 PM ET 05.23 | Kobe Bryant may not have a chance to usurp Michael Jordan for greatest ever, but he's in the running for having the greatest longevity. The Los Angeles Lakers guard was named to the All-NBA First Team on Thursday, the 11th time he's appeared on the first team and the 15th time he's been on the list overall. That ties him with former Utah Jazz forward Karl Malone for the record on the first team and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the overall mark. Bryant was joined on the first team by point guard Chris Paul, forward LeBron James, forward Kevin Durant and center Tim Duncan.

Great season and all, but why is Duncan on that list as a center. he played PF most of the season with Splitter at C?

That's a damn good point!!! Duncan is one of the best "Power Forwards" to ever play the game, he is and never was an all NBA center!!!

That said, and being something less than a Kobe lover, I definitely am awed by his talent even as he ages (at least by the calendar).

Sitt, good morning my friend!!!! It really doesn't matter if I'm "an old-time homer or Kobe lover", the guy is always in top shape!!! Now if he has a serious injury, like he does now, well that's different. You know damn well that Kobe comes to play every night!!!!
