Howard considering five teams

07:06 AM ET 05.24 | Dwight Howard's struggles have been well-documented and parsed for the better part of 2012-13, a season in which he averaged his lowest scoring and rebounding averages since 2006-07. None of this dampens [Mitch Kupchak's] belief that Howard will return to the Lakers. ... Kupchak won't have clarity on Howard's future anytime soon. A source familiar with Howard's thinking says he plans to test free agency and has considered the Lakers, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Golden State. Nothing remains binding, though. The source added Howard's main concern involves "what team he feels has the best chance to win championships, has the best team and system around him." The source also stressed Howard has not and will not ask the Lakers to make any moves on his behalf.

Are we talking winning, money or being happy? Though I can't remember hearing him speak of money, I recall more talk of his happiness than winning a title.

If he wants a title handed to him then Miami is the only place where that is as close to a guarantee as anyone can get!

One thing's for certain, him following in Shaq's footsteps took a turn. The Diesel earned his money and happy or not happy, he earned his rings and place in the HOF. Nothing was handed to him.

QUOTE(#1):

If he truly wants to win championships, the Lakers would be the worst choice among the 5 teams listed. An aging team with a former superstar trying to pad his stats.

For the 2014 season I would have to agree with you. For the long haul you should pull out a calculator and do the math.

In the history of the five franchises he's looking at, only one has proven to know how to win and not just once or twice, as the other four have combined for a total of three titles in their history.

Lakers may be down, but never out. They've proved it, and 16 times at that...

So you're saying that he needs to go to the Celtics? :)

Mick will not like this. Wait... Mick will like this!

Damn you Mick!

QUOTE(#12):

New owners and a new CBA guarantees the Lakers former advantage when it comes to talent acquisition is gone. You can dream all you want of the past, but the rest of the league finally put an end to the advantages major market teams had. The Lakers owners simply do not have the financial pockets to pay large luxury tax penalties and Dr Buss who treated the Lakers like a hobby is gone.

After next season....Kobe and Gasol come off the books. Fact.

They'll be a prime destination for free agents that want to win. Another fact.

QUOTE(#13):

And I've tried telling you and your Laker cohorts that the pauper ownership of the Lakers is not going to want to be paying $4/$1 luxury tax penalties. Nor can they afford it with the smallish fortune they have.

After next season, they won't belaying the lux tax. Do your research.

Smh.
