Stephen Curry expected to join Team USA

07:59 AM ET 05.24 | Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry is unquestionably one of the best shooters in professional basketball and he was on fire early in the NBA postseason. Unfortunately for Curry and the Warriors, the San Antonio Spurs were too much too handle and they were bounced from the playoffs. Curry will have a chance to show his skills on a much larger platform, however. Curry is expected to join the Team USA basketball at some point after July's mini-camp. Team USA features one of the greatest groups of athletes in the world, but it is the lack of shooters that holds the team back. That will all change with Curry in the lineup.

Curry would be a great addition to team USA. There will be a lot of competition for playing time with the guards, though. CP3, D Rose, D Will, Westbrook, Harden, Curry.

dwill and rose are both recovering from injuries- they should NOT be playing...and same with curry-this kid has glass for ankles- he should NOT be putting any extra burden on them for an exhibiiton like the olympics.Manu's play cost SA more rings- Curry's #1 responsibility should be to the warriors, who PAYS him

That's true about Curry (and the other guys with injuries). I agree with you. I was thinking more about the World Championships in 2014 and Olympics in 2016.

Would it be considered poor form for Rose to play Team USA basketball this summer after sitting out the playoffs? Or would it actually be a good start to his rehab?

He would get crushed by the media and fans. But, it probably would be a good start for him.

If Rose decides to play now instead of "getting mentally ready" to play for the Bulls, there won't be a much more hated man in Chicago.

Indeed, keep him off the USA Team unless they pay him and GS to play.
