Derek Brassard calls out Brad Marchand

08:42 AM ET 05.25 | There he was, a Ranger who finally had enough of Brad Marchand and his verbal challenges. There he was, a Ranger not only standing his ground, but standing up for his teammates. There was Derick Brassard, of all people, dropping his stick and gloves with about four minutes remaining in the second period of Thursday night's live-or-die Game 4 at the Garden after dueling with the Boston agitator in front of Henrik Lundqvist's net. And there was Marchand skating away from the challenge as play continued, leaving the Blueshirts center to gather his equipment and scramble back into the action. Let's just say that four games of familiarity has bred a bit of contempt for Marchand. "Sometimes he doesn't show any respect for his opponents," Brassard told The Post following yesterday's prep work for tonight's Game 5. "He's been asking everybody on our team to fight all series, so I thought it was time to take him up on it, but then I guess he didn't have any interest."

I hope you have great weekend Otis. You were in the Air Force correct?

Save it for the end of season speech. Exit stage (f)right. I for one, would like to see a right (and a left) good duke up to bring this series to some sort of climax. I'd also like to see LA get called for all the crapola they pull. Nice to see Segie give his first good pass of the series - got him a nice chance, and an even nicer goal on the rebound pick. Ya gotta give good, to get good.. The next two series are gonna be really interesting - for a lot of reason. Get rid of the Comissioner Office, and hire a real CEO. Put discipline and the refereeing of the sport out to an independent Board of former players and coaches to be funded pro rata by all of the organizations that use them. They don't NEED body-checking for bantam and midget either.

Brassard is just another Ranger puss. How about shutting your pie-hole tough guy and playing a little hockey instead of whining about a guy half your size. You dropped your gloves for nothing and looked like an **** so now you make up some lame crap about Marchand asking everyone to fight. Dummy.

2"..and 7lbs...difference isn't exactly David and Goliath......Marchand is your typical all talk no action instigator...someone takes him up on his verbal threats and he goes running behind Thornton....oh and p.s. Brassard is having a pretty good playoff performance....

That I was. Going to the cemetery where my dad is buried on Monday for the ceremony there.

My avatar is for one of the medals he was presented during the Korean conflict. He earned it.

Same here Otis...USAF 78-84. My Dad is in the RI Vets Cemetery and that is quite the place to visit on Memorial Day for sure. He also served during Korea, but was on a Navy ship who's closest stop to Korea was Iceland. Just lucky I guess. Tip of the cap to your old man for his service.
