10:16 AM ET 05.26 | Multiple sources confirmed to FOX Sports Arizona on Friday that the NHL has reached an agreement to sell the Coyotes to Renaissance Sports and Entertainment (RSE). The next step to complete the deal is for NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman, Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly and RSE heads George Gosbee and Anthony LeBlanc to meet with city officials on Tuesday in an attempt to hammer out an arena management deal. That is the same day that the team will hold a press conference to announce a new deal for GM Don Maloney, as first reported by FOX Sports Arizona on Thursday.

Good to see Buttman doing everything in his power to keep a team in a city that doesn't want it so no fans can show up to see it.

Great job. Why does he hate us so?

They came in 29th out of 30 in attendance. Yeah, I can see where you'd want to protect those stellar numbers!! Morons.

QUOTE(#12):

Doesn't affect me much so I can't say I care a bunch, but the league is bound and determined to create interest in hockey in a few parts of this country that just don't make sense. Been that way for a long time.

Until they get rid of this guy and change the ethos 180, this is the way of it. I still say that 'eventually' the authorities are gonna step in, one way or another - probably more of a deflective move than anything else, as in a universal anti-violance kind of knee-jerk - to take some heat off their 'unduly' elected selves (gotta be something wrong with anyone that needs that much money to get elected to ANYTHING). But, that's also just about the best we can hope for, 'cause we are all 'way too complacent. Saskatchewan and the Niagara/SOnt and QC and the Canarduckian Maritimes and even Vancouver Island could easily support big league hockey - don't actuallly see or hear much of anyone (outside of Aubut, or Balsillie) actually doing much though. Lack of vision abounds, and wasting public money and human resources is the new North American pastime. Glendale is but one of a million, perfect examples.
