07:01 AM ET 05.27 | While the Suns locked up Jeff Hornacek over the weekend, Milwaukee is still in the narrowing-down phase. [The Bucks] are bringing back three candidates to interview a second time for the franchise's head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Atlanta Hawks coach Larry Drew, Houston Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Steve Clifford will meet with Bucks officials this week in Milwaukee, sources said. Clifford will visit Milwaukee again on Tuesday, and Sampson and Drew on Wednesday, league sources said. Bucks general manager John Hammond has a stronger history with Sampson -- who spent two years on the Milwaukee staff under Scott Skiles -- but has been increasingly impressed with the possibilities with Clifford, sources said.

I guess I can understand why Atlanta fans want change... but from a distance it seems to me that the coach wasn't the primary issue there.

QUOTE(#8):

no-they have had roster issues for a while- some good players, but they haven't had an alpha dog in many yearsal is a solid player- but he's a #3, same as smithjj was a decent #2 when he was there, but they are the classic example of a team acquiring decent talent/depth, but are rudderless-

Yes we never have had a #1 option, and no one is gonna come either. That's the problem with small market teams. And we've had pathetic drafting so we didn't grow younger talent either (shelden williams, marvin williams, salim stoudamire, Teague on and on).

All that being said, Drew is NOT a HC material, period! He just let whatever Woody left here, run for us. I supported the Woody firing, assuming the Hawks were gonna "upgrade". But Drew? OMG the Hawks management has been a disaster the last few years with the ownership squabbles etc. Now the ownership is settled, plus a new GM, therefore I'm seeking a fresh start with a REAL coach. Someone with some playoffs pedigree, maybe a JVG, Jerry Sloan, one of those coaches for whom players wanna come play. If I hear another never-heard of HC next, I'm withdrawing my season tickets. Read this Feryy LOL.
