07:12 AM ET 05.27 | It may very well be time to sound the alarm for CC Sabathia. For nearly two months, we've heard from the Yankees how Sabathia's velocity would begin to come back once the weather warmed up. Well, it was a perfect 72 degrees inside Tropicana Field on Sunday and the ace was knocked around for seven runs over seven innings in his worst outing of the season as the Rays beat the Yankees, 8-3, to salvage the final game of the weekend. "I'm hurting the team," a frustrated Sabathia said. "I'm not helping the team out. I just need to get better." This marked only the third time since joining the Yankees that Sabathia has given up seven earned runs, the first since Aug. 6, 2011. Sabathia is winless in his past seven starts at the Trop, going 0-4 with a 4.53 ERA.

CC may not be an ace anymore.........He looks like a #4 or #5 starter.........

Thirty-two is not old for a pitcher. Every player has a sub-par year eventually. This may be Sabathia's year. I'll be very surprised if he doesn't eventually return to Cy Young form.

Actually his velocity was up a little. 92 on the gun they used. Makes me think it is mechanical more than anything, and perhaps just a little " in his head" regardless, he is going out there every five days.

The dude is a fat pig. Maybe if he would bother to get in shape he might return to Cy Young form, but if he keeps eating like a sumo wrestler he's done.

You really don't like the Yankees. I get it.

he's also a lefty-there have been plenty of leftys with 1/2 the stuff he has that have pitched well. cc just needs to realize that he needs to be more accurate and depend less on the heat. He'll be fine
