Penn State rises in Pryor's eyes

Terrelle Pryor, the all-everything quarterback at Jeannette High School and No. 1 recruit in the nation who has created intrigue across the country with his pending college decision, decided not to decide yesterday, the first day high school seniors could sign a binding letter of intent with a college. Pryor said he had made up his mind a few days ago, but a Tuesday night meeting with his father, Craig, changed it. He then decided not to decide. Pryor has no timetable for making a college choice because Penn State has risen in his eyes, he said. His father also likes Penn State and the son plans to make a visit there in the near future, but not this weekend because he will attend an awards banquet in Atlanta.

This is no surprise to me, Penn State is the greatest place on earth (no biased opinion here of course)

February 7, 2008  07:10 AM ET

We are...Penn State!

February 7, 2008  07:17 AM ET

wow...

February 7, 2008  07:59 AM ET

PS....with a quarterback....I'll ask for nothing at Christmas if this happens!
Oh, and to grab him from the clutches of Michigan and OSU, priceless!

I hope this kid goes to Penn State. He's too much of a diva for me to want him at OSU, but he has enough talent to concern me if he goes to Michigan. I hope he goes to "we all have to park in a cow pasture to go to a game" Happy Valley. At least there I can ignore him.

February 7, 2008  08:18 AM ET

You know, if Pryor had committed to Tosu yesterday you would have been bragging to all the Michigan fans and Penn State fans and you know it. Now that he is holding back his decision you're just saying "Eh, we don't need him. We can lose BCS Title games without him!"

February 7, 2008  08:28 AM ET

I have an idea... How about no more articles about Pryor being undecided? This article says nothing we haven't heard for the past month, yet they republish it with a different title and photo every 4-5 days. I think what I'm most sick of now is listening to OSU and Michigan fans fight over who supposedly wants him less.

February 7, 2008  08:35 AM ET

I fight with other OSU fans about this. I have never and will never want a player who has to decide between OSU and Michigan. That's why I never embraced Speilman. I want guys who came out of the womb hating Michigan.

Penn State, on the other hand, is like a chihuahua. Every now and then they may bite you and it hurts a bit, but mostly they just annoy you....until you kick them across the room. Oh, and your stadium looks like it was put together with Legos.

Marino, your jealousy is shining brightly this morning. Thank you.

February 7, 2008  08:42 AM ET

I'm with you Marino. I'm a big Seminole fan and if a player has decide between wearing the Garnett and Gold or playing for the Gay-tors, I'd rather not have him.

February 7, 2008  08:46 AM ET

Is OSU 5 - 1 in the last 6 games against PSU? Yes, I am soooo jealous.

February 7, 2008  09:02 AM ET

I'm with nolesdabomb on this one. If you're considering UF then FU.

February 7, 2008  09:09 AM ET

Marino, it's trivia time. Last Big 10 school to win a BCS game? Penn State. Second winningest coach of all time? Joe Paterno. What is on the list of 50 things every college student should experience before he/she graduates? Game day at Penn State. Who plays in the 3rd (I think) largest stadium? Penn State. Largest alumni network? Penn State.
Now maybe you can ask me a question, such as...what is OSU's bowl record?

A Buckeye fan using Michigan in a positive light... my work here is done. As great as you all apparently think you are, its obviously apparent how much respect and fear you put in the hearts of other big ten schools.

Northwestern is also a very good school, that I am sure most are proud to go to...

February 7, 2008  09:18 AM ET

Agreed and the awesome part of college football is that anyone can beat anyone on a given day. I can't wait until football season!

February 7, 2008  09:21 AM ET

Penn State has done better than OSU and Michigan in BCS games recently because they usually end up playing some busch league time in a 2nd tier BCS bowl game while OSU and Michgan and playing in title games and the Rose Bowl respectively.

February 7, 2008  09:22 AM ET

Gotta give props to Buckeyepride..that was a good one!

February 7, 2008  09:23 AM ET

Oh, sorry about stealing recruit Michael Shaw from PSU. I am sure his visits to the valley made him realize PSU was too good for him. I don't blame him. Nicest place in the world with young and exciting tradition and a perennial powerhouse. I'm preaching to the choir at this point... anyways, I guess as a Michigan fan, I am ecstatic just to get the scraps off of your overflowing recruiting table.

Ohhh. I love trivia. Who was the last Big 10 school to win a National Championship? Is there anything else to play for?

I attended last years OSU game at PSU. Yawn. Parking in a cow pasture and sitting in a stadium that looks like it was put together 2500 seats at a time wasn't all that impressive. If you told me ahead of time that OSU was going to comfortably handle youe precious little kittens in that game, I would have expected to give the experience much higher reviews. Wisconsin is a MUCH better experience.

I guess you get the bronze in the biggest stadium competition. Congratulations. That must mean something where you're from.

Bragging about JoePa is humorous. Sure he was great, but at this point he's just compiling. I was also at the game in Columbus in 2006 when he shat his pants. I bet that was a proud moment in PSU history.
