11:56 AM ET 05.27 | The New York Rangers are not expected to fire head coach John Tortorella this offseason. Tortorella has one year remaining on his contract, which has the team's upper-management in a position where they want to see how he fares in the beginning of 2013-14. Tortorella faced a considerable amount of scrutiny this year as the Rangers were considered a heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup. The team was ultimately knocked out in the second round. Apparently, Tortorella will be given a chance to lead the team but will be on a short-leash.

''......a heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup'' OK I want to know who said that. I think they went as far as they could with what they had. And acquired.

Not only went out in second round with a whimper but barely got in on the last weekend. lets not leave out that underachieving part. All of this with the best goalie in the world.

Where's Hankela ?? Probably on suicide watch eh....well can someone remind him that Zdeno Chara is still playing some solid play-off hockey and power play subban is golfing.HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!Chara > subban

What year were you born, 2000? You sound like a 13 year old. Im sure you're not old enough to remember the half empty Garden before the Bruins became competitive a few years ago. It's band wagon fans like you that give us Bruins fans a bad name. I've been a B's fan since 1968 and even I wouldnt say something stupid like that. You're an embarrassment to other Bruins fan. Win like a champion and not like a jackass.
