Which SEC team asked about Everett Golson?

03:24 PM ET 05.27 | At least one SEC team is interested in the services of Everett Golson, although we'll probably never know who it was.

Golson has stated that he wants to wait out his academic suspension and return to the Fighting Irish when he's eligible, but that didn't stop somebody from calling up Notre Dame to check on the quarterback's availability.

The only school ruled out in the report from Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune is Ole Miss. Mississippi State was involved in the transfer of Steven Bench, losing out to USF, while Vandy and Tennessee tried to get Wes Lunt before Mike Gundy restricted him from transferring to SEC schools. It probably wasn't Alabama, after they shut down Golson in last year's national title game.

No kidding! We KNOW it wasn't 'Bama, because if 'Bama WANTED him, he'd BE at 'Bama!

You know what Florida and USC have in common? Both have won 2 national titles in the last decade or so. Only difference is, Florida's still counts....

May 27, 2013  11:16 PM ET

If there was an electric di1do pressed up against my head and I was forced to care about this, I'd say it clearly is Missouri because they aren't really an SEC team, and every other school in the SEC has 3 or 4 running backs that are better QB's than Goldust.

Now stick it in ma butt.
