02:54 PM ET 05.27 | Ottawa Senators captain Daniel Alfredsson will take several weeks to decide if he has played his last NHL game. Alfredsson remained consistent in his assertion that he will contemplate his family situation and his desire when coming to a conclusion about his future. Alfredsson has four sons and wants to watch them grow-up. In addition, he needs to make sure he is willing to go through the rigors of an offseason program, something he's not sure he wants to do. Alfredsson said he won't even begin thinking about it until after he takes sometime for himself.

Let's Go Pens!

He'll be back... It's an Oly year. And he won't have to worry about having an extended season with Detroit and Columbus coming over, and 8 teams missing out.

When did he pee in your cornflakes?

He's 41, it was a short season and his body is hurting anyway. If he was even halfway reasonable with his money he'd never have to work again. In that situation I would have to come up with a darn good reason to put myself through all of that again.

Ever since he started playing for the Sens. He's a Leaf killer.

He'll be back. The Sens are too close to contending again for him to just walk away. A decent signing on D and maybe a trade to swap some of the young prospects for experience and they will be right in the thick of things at the top of their conference.
