07:11 AM ET 05.28 | According to John Paxson, not only did Derrick Rose receive unfair criticism for not returning to the Bulls lineup, but he also believes the franchise star will benefit from the time away. Paxson said Rose will continue his rehab work during the offseason and will be an even better player when he returns as a result. ... Asked whether Rose might participate in pickup games with other NBA players this summer while training in California, Paxson said, "We are in the process of sitting down and meeting with Derrick and his representatives and mapping out his offseason. ... We're going to map it all out and make sure everyone is on the same page. Whatever he's going to do in terms of playing, that's to be determined."

Maybe this will get all you guys/girls to back off of Rose. Let him continue the rehab and come back stronger. As long as team and managers are ok with him sitting, everything is goood. For the record, my thoughts on why there were always rumors about him coming back was to keep the Heat guessing. Make them spend time in practice to go over coverage with Rose.

Heat won't care who's in the court. They'll play anybody and will take advantage of teams even if their weak. They'll take any advantage they can get and they've been doing that since the big 3 got together. They'll flop, play dirty, take shots at other players off the court, and getting help from Lord Stern is a big advantage... Now bring on the Heat and Spurs. Pacers are done and their heart have just been shredded. George has proven that he's not ready for the big stage. Stephenson has shown how scared he is dealing w/ the Hear. He might get tattooed on the face again before the series is over...

How's dat Baloni sandwich you been eating?

Rose is a selfish wuss, that's the bottom line. You can sugar coat it however you like it. One thing you conveniently fail to mention is, THE DOCTORS CLEARED HIM TO PLAY!!!!!! We, the fans weren't making up "rumors" to want him to play. The freaking team docs said so. Second opinions said so. His vicious dunking in pre-game show off said so. I don't wanna rehash why Rose is hated now, I have done that several times. But you see, when your brothers, just a hurt, or even worse, are putting up monstrous minutes to try and keep their season alive, all that was needed from Rose was to step up and play 15-20 minutes, give a moral boost, add 8 pts and 4 assists and sit down!!!! Heard of Iman Shumpert? Maybe go look up his injury.

Rose is all about himself and a look-at-me look-at-me selfish soul. What if he is not "mentally ready" for the season stater, what would you say then?

Rose has behaved like a complete wuss.

Last I looked...there are many teams that flop, play dirty, and take shots at other players. Difference is, Miami has the talent to do all of the above and still win.

Their winning has ZERO to do with Lord Stern and I think the two BS calls at the end of the game show that yet Miami still won the game.

You are right that they do not care who is on the court. The Bulls, even with Rose, are still a consistent 2nd shooting threat from ever beating Miami.

The Pacers are not done, but, getting beat in their own gym eliminated any momentum they had coming back to Indy. I would not say they are done but tonight will end it if Miami wins.

After the Spurs won Monday night, I fully expect Miami to be motivated even more now to close this out in 5 but I am still sticking with my 6 game prediction.

Agreed. He was cleared as well as various "I might play" reports. All the while, you had teammates near death in the hospital wanting to play through it, guys with all types of pain and ailments, and he sits there in a suit cheering them on after a report comes out that there is still a possibility that he could play in the Playoffs. And that is the fans fault for the false hope? Makes no sense. I say he should have said he definitely was not coming back and leave it at that and the hate wouldn't have mustered for him. He also shouldn't have let him being cleared become public information if that wasn't enough for him to play. Otherwise, the ONLY reason he didn't play was because he was afraid, not physically incapable of playing. Which imo, meant why not give it limited minutes, instead of maybe I might play, or none at all. He deserves all the hate he is getting....sorry, but that is the truth.

"The Pacers are not done, but, getting beat in their own gym eliminated any momentum they had coming back to Indy." This is how I see it also. They not only went 1-1 with the Heat down in Miami but they also held the lead most of those games. I thought for sure they were going to be even better in Indiana but suddenly the Heat seemed to find another gear. The Pacers did the amazing and went into Miami and took away Home Court Advantage. Then they turned around and gave it right back in their first game on their home court.I was stumped on those first two games. I couldn't figure out if the Pacers were just that good or if the Heat were just not clicking yet. It's looking like the latter at this point.

A bit of both brother...

Accustats or ESPN or ABC noted that the Pacers in Games 1 and 2 were almost 6 pts per 100 possessions OVER their total for the year which took them from 22nd in the league to like 6th.

Miami shot 46% from 3 during the season and were at 28% coming into Game 3.

Credit needs to be given to Spo. He moved Lebron into the block, made the offense go for more high % shots and they cut the 3 attempts by 10.

Indy now has the task of adjusting to Miami and candidly, I would force them to double team Lebron all game long and if Batter misses his first few shots, I bench his tail in favor of Miller...and actually I am still unsure why this has not happened yet??

Pacers also effed up when they let Hibbert guard Bosh at the beginning. Usually it's West guarding Bosh. That played into the Heat's hand. Bosh was hot at the beginning which opened up the paint for every Heat player. Bosh was hitting 3s. This allowed Lebron to post down low w/out worrying about Hibbert...

yeah,, all this time in the league and that is Rose image.. Whatever, a team doctor cleared him to play doesn't mean his personal doctor did the same. Dunking is one thing but making cuts on the floor is something else. Hey, if his team is complaining, not one person then maybe there is some truth to him still being a hurt.

May 28, 2013  10:20 AM ET

I understand the other side of my opinion but I'll stick with mine. He isn't mentally tough enough. That's fine. Not everybody handles injuries like a tough guy. I just feel he's mentally fighting that he's not going to have that injury again. He and the club "have" to say what they've said. They can't come out and tell people he's scared. I just wish they would put him on the season ending list and protected him from all the question marks.

It's been interesting watching how things have played out. I think it also helps that guys started hitting shots for Miami. Maybe the adjustments helped to stretch the Pacer defense.Tonight will be really telling. Does Vogel have some counter adjustments?Either way Miami did what they needed and took back HCA. They don't have to win any more games in Indiana if they don't want to.

The Pacers can make the series interesting again by winning game four. They have already proven they can beat the Heat when playing at a high level.

The Pacers came out flat in game 3 but can make these series interesting with a win in game 4.

Yeah, what Rose did was very suspect. When you see old veterans all broken down with all sort of tough injuries trying thir best to be on court to help and lift the morale of a team, then you lose a lot of repect for a young guy who has been cleared to play from so many doctors.
