05:45 PM ET 05.28 | The agent for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew said he was informed by police in St. Augustine, Fla., that no charges have been filed against Jones-Drew in regards to a fight at a restaurant on Sunday. Adisa Bakari, Jones-Drew's agent, told USA TODAY Sports via email that the "matter remains under investigation." The Florida Times-Union, citing a report from St. Augustine police, reported that Jones-Drew punched a security guard at the Conch House, which was hosting its weekly Reggae Night on Sunday evening. The Times-Union has since updated its report stating Jones-Drew has not been charged.

Can we still hit him with batteries? As in car batteries?

Must have been crap charges if they dropped prosecution there.

Maybe some money changed hands (cynical me).

Or can we at least ram some AA batteries down his throat?

He was found guilty and his punishment was to continue to play for the Jags.

Security guard in a restaurant on Reggae night. He musted the bouncer

musted = busted

says it is under investigation , not that charges were dropped , but no charges filed. another report elsewhere says local cops will determine if charges are warranted next week.

Terribly inaccurate headline. "Charges" have not been filed, so they cannot be "dropped". The decision to file charges is still pending a decision from the local prosecuting attorney after conducting an investigation. MJD fled the scene before police got there so he could not be arrested on the spot.
