07:21 AM ET 05.29 | In the hours after the Mike Bohn era ended in Boulder, there was at least one incongruity. [Bohn's] voice on his cellphone answering machine Tuesday evening still cheerily implored callers to "have a great day -- and go, Buffs!" -- hours after his eight-year run as the University of Colorado's athletic director came to an abrupt end. Although official reports from CU said Bohn resigned, university sources tell The Denver Post that he was forced out. In a letter Bohn sent to the athletic department Tuesday afternoon that was obtained by The Denver Post , it was clear that he was stunned by the move. "This is a very disappointing, troubling and shocking development as we have made so such progress together over the past 8 years," Bohn wrote.

So this is what joining the PAC-12 does for you. Nothing like a climate of higher expectations.

12 PAC just wanted Colorado TV set money, they really didn't want the Buffs. Just had to take 'em to get the TV $$$$$$$$$$$.

Kind of like my daughters when they were growing up. The just wanted dad's credit card, not dad. He just had to come along because he had the card.

Kinda hard to see "so much progress they made together over the past 8 years" when they are the doormat/cannon fodder/laughingstock of their conference, and have been for quite some time.

Well you did suck

For a few years now. Never thought I see the day when the CU basketball program would be head and shoulders above the football team. Happy for the basketball program.

Well, an AD is responsible for the entire sports program. Any glimmering high spots in Colorado sports these past 8 years?

With all of CU's scandals of late, one would think the house cleaning should be equivalent to a radical remodel. Bumping out an AD seems to me to be some higher ups' CYA move.
