02:07 PM ET 05.29 | After spending an entire season watching the New York Knicks offense run through his talents, Carmelo Anthony may be hoping to get some help this offseason. According to sources, the 2012-13 scoring leader, "believes the team needs to add a bona fide secondary scorer for the Knicks to take the next step and win a championship." While Melo does have faith in young combo guard Iman Shumpert, he doesn't think the 22-year-old will be ready to help lead New York to a championship in the next couple years. As such, with the dynamic scorer's peak years running out, Anthony hopes Knicks GM Glen Grunwald will do what's necessary to provide reinforcements to the roster. Grunwald has already said he would try to make changes while maintaining the current core, which features Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Amar'e Stoudemire and J.R. Smith, a free agent this summer. Assuming Smith is re-signed, New York won't have much flexibility to make big moves, so Anthony's request may go unanswered.

Melo Translation: Trade Tyson or Amare to get me some help!

The reality is the Knicks are stuck with what they have until Amare comes off the books in two years. No top level elite player with real title aspirations wants to hear that they don't have a shot of improving their team but that is the Knicks reality.

That's his current deal which I think he is going to be amnestied by the Warriors (they would be foolish not to). AFter that, he is really a FA and can come for very cheap.

That being said, if RJ is the Knicks "savior", then kiss your next season goodbye right now!!!!!

They can't. Golden State used the clause on Charlie Bell.
