Gaborik, Avery pile on

07:22 AM ET 05.30 | What, you expected Sean Avery to take the high road? There hasn't exactly been an outpouring of support for fired New York Rangers bench boss John Tortorella. For instance, take winger Marian Gaborik, who was traded by the Rangers to the beleaguered Columbus Blue Jackets in April. "Everything happens for a reason," Gaborik tweeted. ... Then, there was [Avery], the NHL's former bad boy turned semi-retired pundit. He tweeted out this gem at the end of March. "Fire this clown (Tortorella), his players hate him and won't play for his BS." On Thursday, Avery, who played for the Rangers from 2009-12, got his wish -- and he reminded NHL fans. "Don't ever doubt what I say," Avery wrote.

I'm not sure Gaborik's tweet can be classified as piling on.

Holy crap! Someone Canadian is gonna have to help me out here. Did anyone see at the end of regulation, just before they cut to commercial and the players were making their way to the room, Pierre I guess jumped out of his lair and ran over to the Detroit bench trying to interview Zetterberg and just as the camera cut you could tell Zetts had given Pierre the ???are you out of your effin mind????I just caught it and laughed for a good minute at it.

I saw that here too. Hilarious. I like when he asked Seabrook about L.A.
DUDE...let him enjoy the win for at least 5 minutes?

Yeah, you did. You forgot the play-by-play crew of the Wings-Hawks series. They were shamelessly cheer-leading for the Hawks throughout the entire series to the point of being nauseating.

Maybe Avery can come back now. And the stupid part of the fan base can think this is what they need to win

sorry to say, that is a pretty big part (not the Avery supporters...the "stupid' part) of the base...of ALL fan bases

"What, you expected Sean Avery to take the high road?"

Says it all.

So, he was not the coach some wanted?

Is it necessary to jump on the bandwagon and bash him. He is a human being with a family. Enough already. And p.s., I got no love for the man after what he said about Crosby/Malkin, etc., but still...enough is enough.

Who exactly has such a lack of "Life" that they would follow the Averhole on Twitter anyways ?

Too bad he never thought of his players as such.

Just human beings with families.
