07:06 AM ET 05.30 | On second thought, Michael Carter-Williams would be thrilled to wind up in Boston. When MCW was asked recently if he would like to play for the hometown Celtics, his response was lukewarm. "That would be nice, but I kind of want to get away and play somewhere else," Carter-Williams told the Boston Herald at the NBA Draft combine. "If the opportunity presents itself, that would be great." ... In a podcast with WEEI's Ben Rohrbach, Carter-Williams sounds more enthusiastic about potentially joining the Celtics. "If I was drafted by the Celtics, I'd be just as happy as I would being drafted by anyone else," said MCW. "It's a great place. It's been home to me. It would be a blessing to play there. I'd be real excited. I guess the question caught me off guard."

Sounds like a character flaw.

I'd pass on him.

Ppfftttt.....If I were him, I wouldn't want to go to the Celts, either.

Think about it; that team is about to take a nosedive.....plus.....their all-star, starting point guard (though currently injured) is 27 years old.

If you're gonna go to a team and be a back-up, might as well go to one that on the upswing versus one that on the downswing.

Jus' sayin'.......

Haha rookies never learn. Their agents are not schooling them well. He wants to go to a team that he can play or win so if he had to choose Boston would not be his first choice. He will not be doing much playing in Boston behind Rondo but he would be glad he is drafted nevertheless

I'm amazed at how guys in this mediocre draft keep mouthing off. NONE of the draftees from this year are starting material. They will all end up with backup roles and be role players as long as they are in the league.

Why would he want the Celtics to draft him? They already have Rondo - who is a better version of him (neither can shoot to save their lives). If I were him, I wouldn't want to go there either. I'd want to have a chance to play right away.

A chance to play somewhere else? Son, you'll get to play 41 games a year somewhere else. You just dissed your home town.

If the guy has a family full of money grubbers or he has jealous dudes from the ole neighborhood waiting to start trouble, he might actually be better off getting out of town.
