03:27 PM ET 05.30 | The SEC will keep their eight game conference schedule in football after the coaches voted 13-1 in favor, with the only dissenting voice was Alabama's Nick Saban. The eight game slate was approved through the 2026 season, but with the SEC Network on the horizon, the league could vote to change to a nine game schedule before then. The conference is also keeping it's 6-1-1 format, allowing each team a permanent crossover game against a team in the other division, as well as one rotational crossover game. There was some thought that both crossover games would become rotational, but that will not be happening in the immediate future.

The SEC: so good, we're afraid to play ourselves.

The 6-1-1 schedule doesn't work for 14 teams. Six division games with two rotating cross-division games could match all cross-division opponents in a 4-year span. Go to 9 conference games and it gets easier with a 6-3.

Well, at least 7/8 teams in the SEC, are "borderline pantywaists"!!!!! I guess I shouldn't talk, as there are 8/9 teams in the 12 PAC, that are "borderline partywaists"!!!
