07:56 AM ET 06.01 | On the same day that a New Jersey lawmaker met with Rutgers president Robert Barchi to discuss the Julie Hermann hiring imbroglio, at least one source familiar with the university's inner workings said there are no guarantees the school's new athletic director is bullet-proof in her new post. "There are always ways to not continue on the path of that person taking the position that they were recently hired for," said the source. "I think there are always ways. Owners give managers a vote of confidence and then the next day they're gone. We've all seen that." Hermann is scheduled to assume her new job June 17. But ever since her introductory press conference May 15, troubling news has surfaced in numerous reports about Hermann's professional past.

If the allegation of the team letter and resulting meeting is true (I haven't seen a copy of the letter in any story so far) than she cannot be allowed to be the AD.

Given the blows to Rutgers rep of late, the outlook for Hermann's continuance as AD appears unfavorable.
