09:08 AM ET 06.01 | He admits it would be strange but wearing a new jersey is something Valtteri Filppula could be doing next season. The unrestricted free agent forward, nursing a severely sprained ankle suffered in Game 7, doesn't know what his future holds. "I don't know, it's too early to say right now," said Filppula. "It's been the only team I've played with. There's nothing but positive things to say (about the organization), and it's a great place to be. "We'll see what happens this summer. I haven't thought too much about it. Possibly it (leaving the Red Wings) could happen. It would be tough."

Just another 3rd line player, but did have a couple of good seasons.

Took me a few seasons to figure out how to pronounce his name. I know, that says more about me than it does his name. Flip u what? How does it go?

Good third liners don't grow on trees. Good ones aren't that easy to find. He's a keeper ... if he doesn't ask for the moon.

The way you're dogging me around this morning it sounds like your asking for a moon :0)

Here's one from the Buttgoblin himself......

:-)

$3 mil this season--not bad, for some reason thought he was making 4. He can't ask for much (if any) of a raise, especially with the cap going down.

He's good, but with only one 20 goal season, can't expect superstar money.

Not the same, Canuck! Not even close! Let's see Ship's! :-)

His cap hit is 3 mil but he made 3.5 so you're close Santa. Unlike the year I got socks and underwear instead of the Paladin gun set I wanted. :-(

I don't know about Shipper's but I wouldn't mind seeing that one avatar he has. :-)

no raise here....settle for the same money or let him go...the cap is going down and he's not THAT important. 2 threads on this guy in two days is 2 too many...even for us Wings fans

That explains a lot of your inner angst.

That's money a lot better spent than what we spent on Hudler. But ya got this current salary up and 2.8 on Cleary that's up. Like 'em but I don't see that we can give them raises.

Don't see them keeping Cleary or Franzen both. Thinking one will be gone soon.

His name would be sadly missed - specially by B Cole and Fried-man.
