Kings don't care if they're boring

09:15 AM ET 06.01 | The L.A. Kings don't score much. But, they just keep on winning. Of the four teams remaining in the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Kings have the lowest goals-for average, with just two goals-per-game. The Pittsburgh Penguins lead all four remaining teams in average goals-for (4.27), followed by the Boston Bruins (3.17) and Chicago Blackhawks (2.75). And yet, the Kings, who will face the Blackhawks in the Western Conference final, have won their last six playoff series dating back to last April against the Vancouver Canucks. It may not always be flashy, it may not always be fun to watch. But the Kings don't seem to care. They have the 2012 Stanley Cup and are in a good position to go for a repeat. Style be darned when you get the results. "We could bore you all to death. If we keep on winning, I could care less what people think of our game," said Kings' captain Dustin Brown told reporters. "We found something that's successful for us as a group, and sometimes people don't think it's exciting. It depends on your opinion."

If you thought the Hawks were whiny in the Wings series just wait until the Kings fore-check gets at them.

As the lesser of two evils I'm leaning toward the Hawks (sigh)

Nothing more exciting in hockey than watching the Devils trap and Daneyko mugging players away from the play, good times!

He's pretty cool in L.A. too these days. Just wait till they dump the Whining Hawks! The jaded, half naked Hollywood babes will be tripping all over themselves to have their picture taken with him and have their 'sili-cones' autographed. The Kardashians might even want a date with him.

Don't be a hater.

And, it was very flashy watching the cup float down Figueroa last summer.

You think they would have matured after winning the Cup, but it didn't happen and they almost lost the second round thinking it was owed to them. If they don't watch out they will get King Konged.

I've got the same four words for the Kangos that the Winkies were using so well to their favour (before the refs let the B'locks carve 'em up, and crunch 'em to bits) Oh-do-ya want my Rosie-wall. A resource literally waiting for exploitation. On the udder side of the coin, Q-vile needs to send out his Dust(b)in clean-up crew, both of which will try to set new records for dumb-stir diving, before they fold and fall like a deckchair of card-houses that they are. Quick-in, on or around the glovehand elbow area is an absolute sure thing, as is a soft sideways to anyone in support, as an answer for the over-commtment. High anywhere, is CC's weakness - goes down 'way too early and 'way too often - and the fiver is always there waiting, whenever he moves slide-ways. KopiLAtar and Wee-wee Weelliams are the other two roofing crew members, that a somewhat poor-us Ch-o-d-corps need to plug regularly - as in, every chance that Seabrisket, and Shalimar's-son get - back-stabbing or smother-wise. T-K-H and S will be the difference, or they won't - same with the Philly transplant team - depends whether they come out to play. They're all semi-famous lurchers.

And ..... who's the other guy still living there?

June 1, 2013  03:10 PM ET

Mean-while, 'way out East - also known as the late game - it's all about skating - can some of the B-ruins oldguys, walking wounded, B-hemoths, and otherwise glidely challenged, actually keep up. By now, we all know... Mal-key don't play on de-fence, you mite herd yerself - Macho Sid just might play better IN the mask - Laytang runs 'round 'way two muchly, an his shot is purely 'placement'. Pingus'll try to keep up in the hitting department, but unless they figure out that it's the score that counts the B's are gonna buzz-em. Remarkably even and reliable in goal - lookout, if either have to resort to their alternatives, though.

I fully expect the referees to suddenly start calling it like it's actually a hockey game now (like they did in the HO-limpics), in both the semi-series and the finals - now that the Nat Ho League has the teams there, that they want.

Boring and losing the first game.

June 1, 2013  08:20 PM ET

Don't get it. No legs . No energy. No nothing. Queennyville must've had somebody put something in the Kings water bottles.

June 1, 2013  08:26 PM ET

Kings won't be so "boring" if they win the series.

June 1, 2013  09:58 PM ET

Pen-Bruins game has everything the Kings game didn't.
