10:53 AM ET 06.02 | The Raiders fired P.R. Director Zak Gilbert Saturday. Gilbert had been on the job for one year, and was fired by Raiders owner Mark Davis after he had been brought in by general manager Reggie McKenzie, who had worked with Gilbert in Green Bay. Team sources say Davis was unhappy with a Sports Illustrated story that was published in April looking back on the team's 4-12 season in 2012. The article, written by Jim Trotter, cast McKenzie in a good light but Mark Davis didn't like how the story painted him or the job done by his father, late owner Al Davis, in the previous 10 years.

Yea ? And what was the team record for the last 10 years ? BTW your dad was a jerk, and I see you didn't fall too far from the tree.

Oh and SI is it mark or mike ? look at the caption on the pic

Wow. Just when you have a sliver of hope that the tide has turned in this organization. Not a Raiders fan but it's one of those organizations that when good was good for the league.

So it is not allowed for Al Davis' screw ups to be exposed? They should be blamed on McKenzie? Sounds like silver-spoon Mike Davis is as vindictive as his father.

Note to next the Raiders PR executive: Mark Davis has never and will never make a poor decision, his father was not crazy. Any and all mistakes made now and in the future will be due to the fact that the PR department failed to do their job. Your Dear Leader will be sending out new directives every day and you will post them to the website. Please inform the rest of the league that the raiders will be testing their long range missiles next week.

Reggie - you're not in GB, this is the raider way of doing things so get use to it. Where is Lyle Alzado when you need him?

June 2, 2013  12:01 PM ET

There. Problem solved.

North Korea: Old crazy dad dies and they replace him with Yung phat Sun.
Raiders: Old crazy dad dies and they replace him with young fat son.

Just about anywhere is better than the Raiders Zak, uh, except the Jets of course.

The firing of a PR guy does not erase the direction the team is headed. But hate on.

Zak Gilbert is a good man, he worked for me and I know him well. Mark Davis, well, his antics in the owner's box at Bronco games years ago (next to the press box) showed all of us what kind of jerk he was, and apparently still is. Good luck Zak, and to you Mr. Davis, bad luck, bad karma, everything bad that can possibly happen to a man who lets an out of control ego mess with a good and decent man and his family. And I hope it happens soon, you piece of ----.

Well, he's free now, so you can always hire him back.

I was talking to Floyd Little last summer, when they traveled the coach would make him share a room with Lyle to try to keep him under control. He told about a game they lost in KC, Lyle went back to his room to get his stuff before they left town, had a snit fit and tore the toilet up and threw it out the window where it landed on someones car.
