New age limit not imminent

If the minimum age for driving in the Sprint Cup Series is raised from 18 to 21, NASCAR President Mike Helton said Thursday it would likely be implemented so that any driver's current plans to move up would not be affected. He said no decision on increasing the minimum age is imminent but consideration would be given to teams, drivers and sponsors who've been working on deals. Joey Logano's name comes up in any discussion of an age minimum. The 2007 Camping World East Series champion will turn 18 in May and will immediately begin racing in the Nationwide Series. He will be 19 at the start of the 2010 season and, under an age requirement of 21, would not be eligible for Cup racing until May 2011.

You mean Lauren Wallace? ;)

The greatest thing to every hit a racetrack....Hell, the way he is going, he will be driving a sprint cup car before he's 15.

I still have trouble with the Sprint Cup...Sounds like what we watch at the state fair grounds...

Every sport should have an age limit ... with the exception of gymnastics, where the older you get, the more junk in the trunk to balance

May be a stupid question, but is this person related to Rusty? Is this the kid in the commercial taking his Uncle?

I believe there has always been some yelling about "paying your dues." How can you pay your dues when your only 19?

I have said this before & I will say it again: I think age should not be an issue. I am sure there are things in place that help the powers-that-be to judge if an individual is physically & mentally capable to drive in NASCAR. As for the off-track scenarios that go along with being a driver... that is another story.
