Where SEC coaches are biting their tongues

07:19 AM ET 06.03 | Although it's nice to know one's audience, the rah-rah appearances may take on a little less playing to the crowds going forward. Mark Richt has seen the climate and tenor of these booster events change dramatically since he became Georgia's head coach in 2001. Since Twitter took hold, Richt said he's learned to be careful to "guard his words" much like he would in front of a pack of reporters. He confessed that it's taken some of the good-natured levity out of the events. "You say something at the grocery store, and then somebody tweets it, and then that becomes national news," Richt said. "You've got to be careful what you say, which in some ways is real good, it's healthy, and in some ways, it takes a lot of fun out of some of these events."

EGG would now agree with you, Coach.

As embarrassing as EGG has been to tOSU, I commend the schools Board of Trustees for not only reprimanding Gee, but also requiring him to use a consultant to coach him on how to make extemporanius remarks that don't create headlines.

It'll amount to pablum for EGG from here on out, but that's the reality he'll have to live with. Public figures are simply held to a different standard than private ones where public speaking is concerned.

Social media has put everybody's comments into the public domain. There is no such thing as "off the record" anymore. I'm glad I am not a public official, nor hold a position that would cause me to interact with the public. If I were, I'm sure I would make Gee look like a wise, silent elder statesman.

LOL...

I can't even stop from getting into trouble on here from time to time...can't imagine what it would be like talking in public without a 7 second timeout...

LOL. To make Gee look like a wise, silent elder statesman, an mri would have to indicate a parking structure between your ears.

Bite me

Actually, a very fitting way for Arky's season to end. multiple un-earned runs, multiple fruitless innings after getting 2 lead-off men on.

And finally, a wild pitch on an intentional walk to allow the tying run to score, followed up by another wild pitch to allow the winning run to score.

Now on the a badger/pig hybrid football season......it may be a long year for the aggitated swine faithful...

He comes out and says that it effing sucks and is stupid...but then he realizes that there's a chance that it'll be retweeted, so he backtracks and says it's a good thing...

UF lost in Softball.

And I only care about the sports UF is good at. So I don't care about Women's basketball.
