Browns tight end Kellen Winslow told Sirius NFL Radio on Thursday that he wants to renegotiate his contract. "When I got hurt [in 2005], the contract got renegotiated, so some things changed, but I think I've proven these past two years that I'm one of the elite tight ends," Winslow said from the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.

Play out the contract Kellen and then negotiate. Two years does not change everything. Show you can do it to the end of the contract and then make 'em pay.

Retire....stay at home and enjoy your wife....

I bet the Browns want some maoney back for all the games he missed. Play it out and prove your that good. A deal is a deal..

But he's a soldier!

February 8, 2008  08:19 AM ET

He has surgery eveyr off-season. It's hard to give someone who's always going under the knife a big deal.

The only thing I miss about Porter in Pitt was how these two fought.

Lest see some more Winslow, lets see a great upcoming season.

February 8, 2008  08:32 AM ET

I can see where he's coming from.. he's had some great production while he's been healthy, but let's not forget the self inflicted nature of that motor cycle injury.

Play out your contract, and you'll get paid on the next Kellen, and you'll have built good will if you don't hold out over this.

What an idiot. He should shut up and just play out the contract then talk some jive later. The Browns should realize that there will be better tight ends than him available in the next two years. He is fragile and broken before.

February 8, 2008  12:56 PM ET

In the NFL, 2-years is a lifetime. Every play is the possibility of career-ending injury. If not for his earlier injury, they would have paid him. Since the injury he is asked to renegoiate for less, then he plays at a Pro Bowl caliber level. If the Browns have any loyalty they will renegotiate with Winslow and pay him what a Pro Bowl caliber player at the TE position earns.

Browns win a few games and now all the sudden Winslow is a super star. Play under the contract you signed. If you didn't think it was enough, you shouldn't have signed the deal. Or your agent should teach you to read!

I wonder how much the Browns were paying Winslow when he was hurt? What did that total up to?

February 8, 2008  04:45 PM ET

pinup, inside locker

February 9, 2008  11:13 AM ET

No matter what is said of Winslow,he IS still a good player. He made some KEY catches that made a big difference in games.

K2 is a great TE but show some loyalty to the team that took a chance and stuck by you when you was hurt because of YOUR stupidity. They will hook him up with a good contract next year if he plays at that level again this year. They definitely don't want to lose him to FA but it can wait another year. If he holds out because of this then so what that'll just let Steve Heiden shine some more. SH is underrated and could start for almost any team in the NFL.
