07:09 AM ET 06.04 | A week after turning 40, Ramon Ortiz, it seems, has pitched for the final time in the major leagues. [Ortiz] suffered what can only be looked at as a career ending elbow injury after the third pitch he threw in the third inning. ... Ortiz reeled after the pitch crossed the plate, and immediately, everyone in the park knew something went terribly wrong. He slammed his glove to the ground behind the mound, then crouched down and burst into tears. ... "I said a prayer on the spot," [Steve Delebar] said. "He threw his glove down and I've been through that before myself. You obviously never want to see someone go through something like that, especially Ramon, he has a good heart. Our prayers go out to him."

I feel terrible for this guy, but I thought this was going to be about Papi and I'm glad it's not.

Isn't his real age probably more like 43-44?

And he may not even be Ramon Ortiz....he could be Pedro Sanchez for all we know.

Don't worry, next winter Theo Epstein will sign him to pitch for the Cubbies. Theo likes both 40 year old players and pitchers coming back from arm problems.
