07:00 AM ET 06.05 | A return to the NBA could be in the offing for 72-year-old SMU coach Larry Brown. The Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers have both "contacted" [Brown] about their coaching openings, a source close to Brown told SNY.tv. The source said a third team, possibly the Los Angeles Clippers, has also reached out to Brown. ... The source requested anonymity because he is not authorized to speak publicly for Brown. "Three NBA teams have talked to him," the source said, adding that he was not certain of the identity of the third team. The Nets, Sixers and Clippers all have coaching openings. "If one of those teams offered him I think he would [take it]," the source said. Brown is the only man to win an NBA and an NCAA title as a coach and has coached nine NBA teams.

Larry "G.O.A.T." Brown > Phony Phil.

No need to take this headache.

This is who Atlanta should have gotten.

Even this guy is coattailer. He never led an NBA team to the finals working from the ground up and winning it all. That Pistons he coached was on the brink of going to the finals led by Coach Carlisle but he was ceremoniously fired. That's what you call the ultimate coattailer...

Anyways, Brown is done as an NBA head coach. He never last w/ a single team so mind as well not take a chance on him... He is 72...

Your definition of a great coach is just dumb. Brown would have been great if he did win a ring w/ the Spurs but he just brought them to be an above average team. And he had Robinson in his prime. He is a coattailer because he went to a team that have been in the ECF for 2 or 3 straight years?

Would you consider Wino Pop as a great coach because he brought them to the finals w/ Bonner in his rotation???? lol
