07:03 AM ET 06.05 | The Pacers' elimination clears Brian Shaw's schedule to some degree, and that could very well lead to a new job. It took less than 24 hours for [Shaw] to become a serious candidate for both the Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets vacancies, sources told ESPN. The Los Angeles Clippers have officially asked for and been granted permission to speak with Shaw and Memphis Grizzlies head coach Lionel Hollins, a source with knowledge of the situation said Tuesday night. Shaw is considered the team's top choice at this point, multiple sources said. ... The Clippers front office has done extensive background work on a handful of candidates: Shaw, Hollins, former Cleveland coach Byron Scott, former Phoenix coach Alvin Gentry, ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy and [George Karl].

This simply says they have no clue who they really want.

At least the Clippers have some good choices. You better hire someone before the draft...

Why is everyone such an advocate of Brian Shaw? I mean he's good enough I guess, but other than listening to, and accepting other's opinion at face value, what do we have to go on? Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he's not good. All I'm saying is how do we as fans know anything about him really?

Could be like Mark Jackson or Vogel. We won' know yet.

Personally I hope he is good. I'm tired of seeing these same old re-tread coaches making their rounds.

The only thing I can think of is he could add a triangle offense dimension that he learned under Phil Jackson and perhaps some defensive principles from Vogel and Jackson. Pacers use a few triangle plays every now and then. The triangle offense is not the best for an elite PG

I was going to say the same thing. He studied the Zen master

QUOTE(#10):

my issue with shaw is what is his system?is he going to run a triangle? is he a defensive coach? run and gun?both the nets and clips are 'win now' clubs- not that they CAN win, but they are expected to compete- so their rosters are set....does his schemes match what they have?- the best coaches can understand who they have and build around that

I think Shaw would be a use some triangle but pick and roll plays as well. If he goes to BK the offense should be built off Lopez, Pick and Roll, triangle, then Dwill, then Johnson
