07:10 AM ET 06.05 | Kyle Allen's verbal commitment to Texas A&M helped narrow Louisiana dual-threat prospect Brandon Harris' decision on Monday. [Harris] announced on Twitter that he will no longer be considering the Aggies in his recruitment. The 6-2, 186-pounder from Parkway High School (Bossier City, LA) originally had Kevin Sumlin's program on his list of final seven schools, but now the QB will consider six others: Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Baylor, Ohio State and LSU. Considered by most recruiting analysts to be a Top 5 national dual-threat, Harris has strongly been linked to Alabama and Ohio State, but he will continue to take visits to schools and let the process play out before publicly choosing on July 18.

What Urbie wants, Urbie gets.

So A&M gets a verbal from a top 5 pro-style pocket passer, which serves to drive away their top 5 dual threat prospect. Wouldn't a dual threat fit better in their current scheme? Help us out here JesusHManziel.

Agreed, this just doesn't compute.

I guess the pocket passer thinks Sumlin will go Air Raid, and he's the next Case Keenum?

Of course they already have Kenny Hill who was a top 5 dual threat himself.

"I talked with Coach Malzahn on Skype this morning and it was a great talk," Harris said. "At this point, I would say Auburn has a very, very good chance of landing me." Will be making an official visit soon and has said Auburn's in his top 3.

It's pretty much Air Raid now, just tuned a bit for a mobile QB. Tech ran it for years with pocket guys, and that type does seem to be what Sumlin has had in the past, even going back to his OU days. He also did recruit a pocket guy in the 2013 class, as well (Kohl Stewart), although he will most likely never suit up for A&M.
I was surprised Allen ended up committing. From what I had read, it was coming down to ND or UCLA. If his arm and decision making are what people say they are, he will fit in great. Sucks to lose out on Harris, but I guess you can't collect them all.

Of course, one or both may change their minds before NSD. A long way to go between now and February.

Yeah, this, too. Hill may blow everyone out of the water next year.

Thanks and good run down in post #7.

Regarding Hill, it will be nice to see a SLC QB stay and play in Texas for a change.

Orange and blue, through and through -- I do the Gator chomp as a reflex whenever I hear the Noley war chant or hear some Hairy Dawg yell anything about silver breeches. Although I have admitted on here that I grew up an Aubie fan, and all my family are Aubie grads.

Oh, and I much prefer OUR O & B, not y'alls. ;-)

No issues with that. I can tolerate ya'lls O&B, especially since my stepkids grew up in Fla and are big Gator fans, and you have Mus. Will be intersting with Aubie and Gator meet up again.

all joking aside, I think he has the ability to unseat JFF in a couple of yrs if JFF stays that long.
