07:03 AM ET 06.06 | In a wide-ranging interview, Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak addressed the current happenings in basketball ops, the team's financial situation, and he was asked whether Dwight Howard's decision would dictate just about everything about the 2013-14 roster. Kupchak: If there's one thing we're looking at this summer, it's what Dwight is going to decide to do. That is the major moving piece. That will determine a lot about what we do. It's the one decision we will have to wait on. Then we will try to have a plan a, plan b, plan c depending on what happens. It moves quickly, so it's not like you can go to a plan b with certainty. There will be 29 other teams looking to improve their teams on July 1.

You should have put the statue before the season ended. It didn't help that you had a full year to encourage him to stay or at least tried to prove that you needed him. Well, it loos like he was a very bad fit for the Lakers...

Hey, Junior....the statue Mitch was referring to was when Dwight's career is over.

Also the lakers got a lucky break when yao got injured that year or they would not have won that 2009 title they did take the lakers to 7 without him.

Lucky break? LMAO.

Yao was injury prone, it's why he retired early.

Not only do I agree with your suggestion but will add that I think such punishment should also be applied retroactively.
