07:15 AM ET 06.06 | The Penguins, of course, had greater concerns before Game 3, but the business of hockey rolls on. The NHL competition committee is recommending that players entering the league be required to wear a visor. Penguins right wing Craig Adams, the team's union representative, said the decision should remain with the players. "It's always been the player's choice," Adams said Wednesday, hours before the Penguins and Boston Bruins played in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final. "How hypocritical is it of me to say I'm not going to wear one, but I'm going to make everyone else wear one?" The competition committee wants the rule to be instituted at the beginning of next season. The league's board of governors must approve the change.

Sounds like the old helmut rule to me. Those grandfathered in have a choice, anyone else, no.

If it is the player's choice, would the players accept that the team-provided health insurance does not cover injuries caused by the lack of a visor?

Nahhh, didnt think so.

Everybody coming up through junior has to wear a visor...the college boys have to wear a full shield or cage...it's now a non-issue as everyone has worn one since they were kids.

Here in KY, you do not need to wear a helmet when you ride a motorcycle. I have no problem with it, but just dont ask me to pay your medical bills when the laws of physics play out.

Um, Adams, you don't have to wear one. ****.

Just another reason why they might be legendary for playing with pain, but also pretty dumb.

But they all wear a cup. That's "guy priority" right there.

They should just be thankful that it's not an old school Northland or Titan across the forearms...

The poster player for this policy should be Pronger

You think maybe he wished he was wearing a visor?

Exactly. This past weekend a 37 year old Red Deer Alberta man died in a motorcycle crash. Great decision to ignore the Law and ride helmetless or what ? Freedom of choice sometimes involves allowing an idiot to prove it.

Exactly. Craig Adams would do himself and his team a huge favor if he concentrated on more important issues ... like ... winning a hockey game rather than being distracted by something that don't affect him or his current mates at all.

Get your head out of your arse and ... play hockey, Craig!

How about when you ride the "short bus?"
