08:15 PM ET 06.07 | There is a giant question mark sitting in front of the Boston Celtics this offseason as no one knows what the makeup of the team will be when the season begins in October. For the second straight year everyone is wondering if we've seen the last of the Big 3 in Boston, and as free agency rapidly approaches, the questions aren't getting answered. According to the Boston Herald, despite comments from reporters like Jackie MacMullan and Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, neither Kevin Garnett nor head coach Doc Rivers have verbally or publicly committed to returning to the team next season. So here we sit, more than a month into the Celtics offseason and we don't seem to be any closer to getting answers out of Boston's Big 3. They seem to be biding their time but with the clock ticking on Paul Pierce's situation, decisions might begin rolling in sooner rather than later.

As a Celts fan I just want Pierce to retire a Celtic. I hope we can package KG in a sign and trade and try to get younger.

wasn't the big 3 KG, Pierce, and Ray Allen? It was already broken

Ray Allen is a turncoat. Now it is Doc, KG and Pierce.

Um, the Celtics were actively trying to trade Ray and everybody knew it. So he chose to go somewhere else when his contract expired. That is not a turncoat. C's homers really are good for a laugh...

Ray didn't DEMAND to be traded. he finished his contract and moved on.
But I agree he could have avoided some of the back-and-forths between him, KG and Doc. That kinda turned ugly.

Teams try to trade many players. Pierce was also shopped. Ray took LESS money to go somewhere else.

When a team tries to trade a player, it is showing good business sense. When a player agrees to sign somewhere else for LESS money, he is showing he values winning over money. That's not being a traitor. Ray didn't quit on his team like Vince Carter. I'm not sure why players are expected to be loyal, when teams are free to trade them whenever they want.

And don't be so freaking judgmental. Idiot.

Stay classy. Hard to believe you are part of the same fan base that literally defecated on Bill Russell's bed....

(sarcasm)

It was intended that way. Sorry I forgot to press the sarcasm button.

not sure what the confusion is.
all are under contract
all are coming back unless ainge pulls the chair out.

Or unless KG and Doc decide that they don't want to come back.......

In any case......real basketball fans don't give a crap if washed-up KG or no-voice Doc come back or not.....the the issue is moot.
