09:42 AM ET 06.08 | Major League Baseball has secured a cooperative agreement with Tony Bosch, the founder of the Miami-area clinic at the center of an ongoing performance-enhancing drug scandal, but the attorney for another key potential witness on Friday accused baseball of "bullying" his client. The attorney for Carlos Acevedo, who along with Bosch and three others was named in a civil suit brought by MLB in March, told "Outside the Lines" he has filed a motion to have his client dismissed from the suit. Martin Beguiristain expects his motion to be heard Wednesday in a Miami-Dade County circuit court. Acevedo, a former partner with Bosch in a wellness clinic, could presumably be helpful to baseball in supporting and corroborating information presented by Bosch, who even MLB officials acknowledge has credibility issues. The two worked together at Biokem, located in the same Coral Gables office that eventually would house Bosch's Biogenesis of America clinic. "They haven't sat down with me, much less got anywhere near my client, other than sending investigators to his house to bang on the door," Beguiristain said. "And threatening him and intimidating him. It is like they think they are the federal government. No, they went about this all wrong in regards to my client. "What they have done is made a very strong enemy. Carlos Acevedo is a very strong enemy. He is a broke, broke, broke little nothing individual. But boy, what they have done is extremely impolite. He doesn't have any money. He doesn't have anything to lose. It is not good to bully somebody that has nothing."

This business will get out of control. It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it.

Sometimes attorneys just don't realize how stupid they sound to the public.

>He doesn't have any money.

Sounds like he has enough to pay for a big mouth lawyer.

Now that the dodgers rookie Yasiel PUIG its hitting 500 avg,,,the league may pull a no-no against the dodgers rookie,,why??because he is hitting homeruns like crazy and likely the league will start to doubt the dodgers prospect power!!!!

June 8, 2013  11:56 AM ET

the league can't cover the sun with one finger,,,but all in all, this peds ordeal has a very high mountain to climb,,,

June 8, 2013  11:57 AM ET

did DOMINIC brown took any peds?
did YASIEL PUIG took any peds??? because as soon as a hitter or a prospect hits homeruns,,the league right away thinks those players may or could had been in peds!!!!

Lawyer talk--not worth serious attention, just part of the defense posturing.

The Commissioner Wanted PEDS, The Owners Wanted PEDS, and the Players are the scape Goats, the owners are now Billionaires because of the likes of Clemons, McGuire, Sosa and Bonds, they Packed The Stadiums filled the Air Ways (megaTV Deals) sucked our money out of our hands, cashed in on the profits, gave us lousy Teams and HAD THE BALLLS, YES THE BALLS to go after these idiot players who will probably all die before their Time!! Bud Light and his Committee Of CROOKS all should be hung by their Balls, and that's the way it is!!!

A-rod admitted to taking PEDs Braun got caught last year but got off on a technicality. Others have already been suspended new names were also listed. The lawyer is only doing his job. trying to discredit the main witness who would have had first hand knowledge of players involved. I'm sure MLB will also have their attorneys as well. This will probably go to court which will decide the fate of all of this. A lot of this has to fall back on Butt Selig who turned a blind eye when McGwire and Sosa were hitting upwards of 60 HRs all of a sudden when their average HRs were before were topping out at around 30-35.

The value of The Yankees, Mets, Dodgers and Bunch of others are in the Billons, do you think Bud Light and The Owners Care, if You do, They asked me to Thank you for There $10 Beer and Their Brand Spanking new TV contract and for me to inform you that you will all get over it after The First Pitch, SUCKERS, AROD is A Scapegoat, bud should go after The Owners, I'd ask Congress to go after Baseball, but they tell me it's a Game NOT A BUSINESS, the Hof'er's should no longer allow any more players to enter their shrine!!!

June 9, 2013  04:59 PM ET

MLB uses the game as a vehicle to promote their BUSINESS. Marketing their jerseys, caps, Etc. Also the bucks they generate from tickets, parking, and concessions. most of these are petty cash compared to their lucrative TV deals, Season Tickets sales, and sale of luxury suites.

After realizing The ML HOF had no rule disallowing a player banned from MLB, They change(added) that rule. ML HOF should add that any player admitting to or testing positive for PEDS should be ruled ineligible for HOF. by allowing PED users in shrine it lowers the bar for those already in.
